On Saturday, April 22nd, I attended my first convention in 10 years: Kumite 6. I was told over 50 people attended. Somehow everyone fit into the relatively small convention space. After all these years, it was exciting and a little bit intimidating being there, but I’m glad I jumped that hurdle.
I was able to participate with the help of my friend Tom Hagen, who arranged for me to be a guest at the convention. Maryann Renee, professional photographer, took some excellent photos at the show. Everyone welcomed and thanked me many times for being at the show. It was enormously generous and kind. I signed lots of cards and even took some alter work and enjoyed every moment of it. I did so well and had such a wonderful time, I’ve decided more conventions are on the horizon. Thank you all!
